Message from the Chairman Message from the Chairman
As Chairman of FirstChoice Cooperative(FCC) and an administrative executive for over 35 years of a healthcare system I want to urge you to take advantage of the FirstChoice/FirstLink Coop Program to reduce your Supply Cost within your facility.

You can take advantage of paying the same invoice prices as a hospital system because the FCC pricing is not tiered!  It is one PRICE for all members!!!

You will also generate a new revenue source through "CASH" patronage rebates based upon your utilization of all FCC agreements !

Please remember that most hospitals' operating margin is around 2% or less therefore:

$1 of SUPPLY EXPENSE REDUCTION is worth $50 in gross revenue.  Therefore a $25,000 supply chain reduction is equivalent to $1,250,000 in Gross Revenue!!!

Please give your FirstChoice/FirstLink Regional Director a call to see how we can help you reduce your supply cost while also generating you a NEW REVENUE SOURCE!!!

You can also call the FirstChoice Corporate Office for more information at 1-800-250-3457 or visit us on the web at www.fccoop.org

NOW is the time for all of us in Healthcare to find ways to reduce our cost and we have been extremely pleased with the FirstChoice program at our healthcare system.

Sincerely,

Freddie Sanchez
FCC Chairman

                                                                                        MEMBER SPOTLIGHT

As the FirstChoice Cooperative membership continues to grow, we have more and more members we would like to “Spotlight”. This quarter, we are highlighting the following member: Otto Kaiser Memorial Hospital

Otto Kaiser Memorial Hospital

Kenedy, TX

Otto Kaiser Memorial Hospital is located in Kenedy Texas, halfway between the large markets of San Antonio and Corpus Christi and provides patients with the best of both worlds - new state of the art technology combined with small town personal care.  They are governed by the Karnes County Hospital District which approved the funds to build a replacement hospital in 2014, with that project coming to completion in the Spring of this year. The facility has maintained its Critical Access designation and has 25 beds to accommodate local residents with inpatient care as well as a Sleep Study Lab and a Swing Bed program.  A new Emergency Department, full service Lab, Physical Therapy Gym, Cardiopulmonary Lab and Outpatient Surgery department are available to serve local patients with excellence. The new facility boasts all new Imaging equipment with the latest MRI Magnetom technology, and a new 64 slice CT scan.

In their beautiful new facility, OKMH hosts regular community outreach events such as Lunch and Learn educational seminars, Support groups and numerous special events. OKMH Staff believes that their friendly employees who provide compassionate care and personal relationships with their patients is what sets them apart from the rest.  Along with the replacement hospital, a new state of the art Wellness center was opened on the hospital campus. With an indoor pool, jogging track, numerous strength and cardio conditioning machines, group fitness classes and more, OKMH is taking an active role in providing patients with ways to improve their overall health and fitness. Otto Kaiser is proud of their new facility and looks forward to serving the residents of Karnes County for years to come.
